Organizations large and small aren't particularly good at handling change, particularly around a topic like sustainability, which too often implies regulation or costs.

Sara Rynes-Weller, professor of management and organizations, and colleagues are training MBA students at the University of Iowa Tippie School of Management to think differently. Her Strategic Management of Change Course emphasizes proactive solutions that can ultimately help the bottom line.

Rynes-Weller teamed up with the UI Office of Sustainability to identify real-world projects, from finding enough biomass fuel to help the university meet renewable energy targets, to working with a local food co-op on diverting organic waste from the landfill.

In this video produced by the Tippie College of Business, Rynes-Weller, her students, and their project partners talk about the search for sustainable solutions.
