Marilynne Robinson to discuss the Bible's literary significance April 13
Wednesday, March 28, 2012

Marilynne Robinson, faculty member of the Iowa Writers' Workshop and Pulitzer Prize winning author, will speak at the next “Finding God at Iowa” lunch forum. The forum will be held at noon Friday, April 13 in the Newman Catholic Student Center, 104 E. Jefferson St., Iowa City.

In her talk, “The Book of Books,” Robinson will discuss how the Bible has shaped Western literature. From great works that directly address questions that arise within Christianity to merely ornamental or even unintentional references to Scripture, the Bible has had and continues to have literary significance.

The "Finding God at Iowa" lunch forum series, sponsored by Geneva Campus Ministry, meets once a month during the regular school year. Christian faculty, staff, and students speak on how their faith shapes their lives, their work, and their perspectives on university and social issues.
