The UI Alumni Association is offering a free public lecture on the factors, fallout, and future of global financial crises.

Paul Weller, UI John F. Murray professor emeritus of finance, will discuss the recent unprecedented U.S. government bailout of banks and financial institutions deemed “too big to fail,” as well as Europe's current economic turmoil and a 1997 crisis concentrated in Asia.

Part of the UIAA’s ongoing Lifelong Learning series, “Financial Crises: Causes, Consequences, and Cures” takes place at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, at Quad City Botanical Center, 2525 Fourth Ave., Rock Island, Ill. ( map) The event is sponsored by McGladrey.
