The "Get to Know" series asks University of Iowa faculty, staff, and students a few questions about their work and outside interests. Meet senior graphic design student Sam Watkins, who painted eight portraits of Martin Luther King Jr. that comprise an Iowa Memorial Union exhibition called "Keep Moving Forward."

Though the Rose Bowl Game didn't go the way Hawkeye fans would have liked, it was an amazing week for many of the tens of thousands who made the trip to California.

University of Iowa alumni all over the world are excited for the Rose Bowl Game. And for some who call Los Angeles home, it’s a time to celebrate their beloved team and reflect on how their time in Iowa City helped prepare them for where they are today.

Parsley, flax, oatmeal, corn. And flowers...lots of flowers. These elements are coming together to decorate the University of Iowa's float for the 127th Rose Parade, which will take place the morning of Jan. 1, 2016.

The University of Iowa honored December 2015 graduates during a series of commencement ceremonies and other events, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 18 and 19.

The Oakdale Community Choir shared joy, hope, and music during its recent "Community of Caring" concert. Mary Cohen, choir founder and director, is a UI associate professor of music education. The goal is for participants to learn from each other and to empower inmates to gain skills for re-entering society.
