A team of University of Iowa researchers studied more than 200 YouTube videos of infants and toddlers using tablets and found that most showed a moderate ability to use the devices.

Charles City teen gets a jump start on college thanks to UI program

Tyler Babcock, who just finished his junior year at Charles City High School, will start his freshman year at the University of Iowa this fall, thanks to the UI College of Education Belin-Blank Center’s new STEM Academy for high-ability students. He plans to major in mechanical engineering.

2015-16 salary program moving forward

With the recent conclusion of the 2015 legislative session, the University of Iowa is moving forward with a salary program for 2015-16. The overall average salary increases for faculty and staff will be between 1 percent and 3 percent.

In a study that seems to defy conventional dietary wisdom, UI scientists have found that adding high salt to a high-fat diet actually prevents weight gain in mice. The findings highlight the profound effect non-caloric dietary nutrients can have on energy balance and weight gain.
