The University of Iowa ranks among the 25 public universities whose graduates have the lowest default rate on student loans, according to the online college ranking company BestColleges.com.

UI studies impact of marijuana on driving

A new study conducted at the University of Iowa’s National Advanced Driving Simulator has found drivers who use alcohol and marijuana together weave more on a virtual roadway than drivers who use either substance independently. However, the cocktail of alcohol and marijuana does not double the effect of the impairment.

As the Alzheimer's Association raises awareness during Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month, the recently created Jo Hoyt Freeman Dementia Education and Outreach Fund aims to improve care for dementia patients. The fund will support outreach projects by the Hartford/Csomay Center for Geriatric Nursing Excellence at the UI College of Nursing.

The University of Iowa was recognized by BestColleges.com as one of the top 25 public universities nationally for having one of the lowest student loan default rates. The UI was ranked as the 12th best public university with the lowest student default rate out of more than 700 public universities.
