The University of Iowa will award honorary degrees to personal computer pioneer Ted Waitt and corporate health and wellness innovator Martín-José Sepúlveda during spring 2017 commencement exercises May 12 and 13.

About 4,800 UI students will receive their degrees at spring 2017 commencement ceremonies, which begin May 11 with the College of Pharmacy and end on May 26 with the College of Dentistry. The Office of the Provost announced Tuesday, May 2, the third candidate for the position of dean of the College of Nursing. Elizabeth J. Corwin, professor and associate dean for research at the Emory University School of Nursing and Department of Physiology, will visit campus Wednesday and Thursday, May 3–4.
