The University of Iowa Class of 2022 celebrated the culmination of years of hard work during commencement ceremonies that began May 12 and will conclude with the College of Dentistry’s ceremony June 4.

Nine University of Iowa students and recent graduates were named recipients of the highly competitive Graduate Research Fellowship Program funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF).

This spring, more than 5,100 University of Iowa students will receive degrees during in-person and livestreamed commencement ceremonies beginning with the College of Pharmacy’s Doctor of Pharmacy ceremony on May 12 and concluding with the College of Dentistry’s ceremony on June 4.

Seventeen University of Iowa students and alumni were chosen from about 10,000 Fulbright Award applicants nationwide to serve as representatives of the U.S. State Department to teach English abroad and to undertake public health research and creative writing projects in 16 countries.

Donika Kelly, assistant professor in the department of English, won the 2022 Anisfield-Wolf book award in poetry with her collection titled The Renunciations.

The University of Iowa Council on Teaching named 29 teaching assistants as recipients of the 2021 Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award.

Eleven University of Iowa students, faculty, staff, and alumni received awards April 12 at the 105th Finkbine Awards dinner.

Iowa Reading Research Center programmer Ben Stone is the 2022 Student Employee of the Year. Six other students and seven student employee supervisors were also recognized during National Student Employment Week .
