On July 25, 2015, an estimated 20,000 cyclists participating in the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) rode through the University of Iowa campus. All week long, Hawkeye spirit was part of this truly monumental touring event.

The Iowa Institute of Human Genetics Summer Internship Program, now in its third year, allows interns to explore various career opportunities in genetic counseling.

UI researchers stimulate human amygdala to gain key insight to SUDEP

By using electrical stimulation to activate the amygdala, a group of University of Iowa researchers has identified areas of the human brain in which breathing is controlled and, in some cases, impaired, providing an important insight into sudden unexplained death in epilepsy.

17-year-old student researches telescopes, gamma rays

Telescopes for peeking at showers of light sparked by high-energy gamma rays have been a focus for Iowa City home-schooled student Liza Casella. For the past month, she has conducted research with UI astronomy and physics professor Philip Kaaret as part of the UI Belin-Blank Center's Secondary Student Training Program.
