Deadline extended to Nov. 6 for CMRF seed grants

The University of Iowa Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development has launched a pilot seed grant program to encourage researchers to use the Central Microscopy Research Facility (CMRF) to help secure further external funding. The deadline has been extended to Nov. 6.

Brownlee accomplishments recognized

Michael Brownlee, ’01 PharmD, was the recipient of the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy’s Genesis Award. Brownlee is Associate Dean for Clinical Education and Clinical Associate Professor at the UI College of Pharmacy, as well as Associate Director and Chief Pharmacy Officer of University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Forbes named honorary alumnus

John Forbes, owner and operator of the Medicap Pharmacy in Urbandale, was presented with the UI College of Pharmacy’s Honorary Alumni Award. Forbes is a legislator in the Iowa House of Representatives where he serves on the Appropriations, Commerce, and Local Government committees, and Health and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee.
