University of Iowa is 'top producer' of U.S. Fulbright students

Twelve UI students were awarded a Fulbright U.S. Student Program grant in the 2015–16 academic year. This is the highest number of placements the UI has ever secured in a single calendar year, resulting in a tied ranking for 27th on a list of peer institutions.

UIMA again sets statewide participation record

The University of Iowa Museum of Art (UIMA) set an all-time museum record for statewide participation and attendance at events during fiscal year (FY) 2015, drawing 221,879 people in Iowa. This significantly surpassed the previous record of 136,943 for FY 2014.

Celebrating a decade of engagement

For 10 years, the Obermann Graduate Institute has helped nearly 200 UI graduate students from across disciplines think about how to weave engagement into their research and teaching. Taking It to the Streets, a symposium scheduled March 3-4, will commemorate the anniversary.

Iowa resident tests positive for Zika virus

The Iowa Department of Public Health on Feb. 19 announced that an Iowa resident, who recently traveled to countries with ongoing Zika virus transmission, has tested positive for the virus. Iowans traveling to areas where there is ongoing Zika virus transmission should take care to protect themselves from mosquito bites.
