Orhon, Chancler to perform recital April 19

The University of Iowa School of Music will present a free recital by Volkan Orhon, UI associate professor of double bass, and pianist Rose Chancler at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 19, in Riverside Recital Hall on the UI campus. Spark to give reading, lecture April 18 in Iowa City

Debra Spark, alumna of the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop, will read from her work at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 18, in a free reading at Prairie Lights Books in downtown Iowa City. Documentary examines struggles in American health-care system

The University of Iowa hosts a free, public screening of the film "The Waiting Room," a character-driven documentary that captures the raw reality of the uninsured patients and doctors and staff at Highland Hospital, a safety-net hospital in Oakland, Ca.
