Maria Bruno

Maria Bruno, Psy.D., has been elected IPA Representative of the Iowa Psychological Association (IPA). Bruno will serve on the executive council through 2018.

IPA is a state affiliate of the American Psychological Association serving licensed psychologists and embracing the mission of the advancement of psychology in Iowa as a science and as a profession. IPA provides educational opportunities, legislative support, and professional networking opportunities comprehensively to its members statewide and continually works toward providing mental health care service to all citizens of Iowa.

Bruno received a Psy.D. in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Schaumburg, Illinois. She is a staff psychologist with University of Iowa Counseling Services. Prior to this, she was the director of the community support and rehabilitative services at the Ben Gordon Center in DeKalb, Illinois. Bruno completed an APA internship at the Youth Opportunity Center in Muncie, Indiana. Bruno conducted various and comprehensive psychological testing and qualified as an expert testimony in various counties across Indiana. Bruno has extensive forensic experience working as a staff therapist for the 19th Judicial Circuit in Illinois. She is also a licensed Mental Health Counselor in Iowa and Illinois.
