The University of Iowa School of Art and Art History will hold a two-week intensive program called Foil Workshop in Printmaking from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, June 3-7 and June 10-14, in Studio Arts Building in Iowa City.

Participants will learn the basics of hot stamped foil and create unique artwork in a professional printmaking studio setting. No previous experience or training required.

The first week will demonstrate basic techniques and offer studio time for trying them out. The second week is an optional open studio for uninterrupted work.

Deanne Warnholtz Wortman, adjunct assistant professor in printmaking, will serve as the workshop’s instructor. Wortman is a graduate of the UI with degrees in printmaking, drawing, and intermedia arts. She has worked with Professor Virginia A. Myers for many years and continues her enthusiasm for foil imaging.

Fees for the workshop are as follows:

  • One week, noncredit: $700
  • One week, 2 semester hours of credit, undergraduate: $900
  • One week, 2 semester hours of credit, graduate: $1,200
  • Second week: additional $300

All basic materials and tools are included in the tuition. Participants must be admitted UI students to receive credit.
