The University of Iowa American Indian Student Association hosted the 20th anniversary Powwow Saturday and Sunday April 13-14 in the UI Recreation Building.

The event featured dance and drum competitions, food and arts and crafts. Some of the special events include an I-Man Hand Drum Contest, sponsored by Wayne Silas Jr.; a Men’s Northern Traditional and Women’s Applique, in memory of Frank and Bernice Sanache; and a Youth Hand Drum, sponsored by Winona Kingbird.
