The performing arts component of University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Project Art will present a musical performance in the atrium of the John Colloton Pavilion at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics at noon Monday, April 8. The performance is free and open to the public.

Performers will include violinist Tessa Lark, who recently won the Naumberg Competition in New York; Renana Gutman (piano), graduate of Mannes College of Music; Michael Katz (cello), graduate of the Juilliard School of Music; Rachel Joselson (soprano), associate professor of voice in the UI School of Music; Mark Bernat (double bass), Project Art performing arts coordinator; and Jason Sifford (piano), a recent visiting assistant professor of piano pedagogy at the UI.

They will perform works by Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, and Glinka, among others.

The performing arts component of Project Art was created to offer diversion and stimulation through music, dance, and theater. Project Art schedules more than 60 performances each year; many Project Art performances take place during the noon hour to attract staff and visitors during lunch breaks.

The School of Music is part of the Division of Performing Arts in the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all UI-sponsored events.
