Esposito has achieved a career as a soloist, teacher, chamber musician, and orchestral musician on an international level, having been featured across the United States, Europe, Central America, and South America. She holds degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Michigan. As an orchestral musician, Esposito has performed under some of the world’s leading conductors, including James Conlon, David Zinman, Gunther Schuller, and Robert Spano. In addition to her teaching position at the University of Iowa, Esposito has served on the faculties of the Five Seasons Chamber Music Festival, the All-State Program of the University of Michigan at Interlochen, the Interlochen Arts Camp, and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

The Alturas Duo has been recognized as one of the most engaging ensembles performing in the chamber music world today. The duo was formed with the idea of playing South American and classical music by bringing together the unusual combination of the viola, charango, and guitar, and in doing so, creating passionate music that moves at ease between the Baroque, South American folk rhythms, and new pieces written especially for the duo.

The School of Music is part of the Division of Performing Arts in the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. For accommodations at the concert contact the School of Music at 319-335-1603. For a UI arts calendar and details about upcoming events visit the new Arts Iowa website.
