Monday, March 25, 2013

Students, alumni, and friends are invited to attend the 10th anniversary celebration of the University of Iowa’s Asian and Pacific American Cultural Center (APACC) in Iowa City April 5-7.

Co-sponsored by the Center for Student Involvement and Leadership and the UI Alumni Association, the weekend includes a rededication reception, ribbon-cutting ceremony, open house, and a “Pack the APACC” celebration with information and food samples from various Asian-American student and community organizations.

On Saturday evening, before the UI’s Student Multicultural Formal at the UI Athletics Hall of Fame, the APACC will host a reception, dinner, and program to honor the rich traditions and historic contributions of the Asian-American communities at the UI. The weekend celebration wraps up with a Sunday brunch discussion to help plan the APACC’s future.

Apart from the Saturday night events at the UI Athletics Hall of Fame, all events will be held at the APACC, located at 223 Lucon Dr. in Iowa City. To learn more about the events and costs (including a discounted registration fee for UIAA members) and to register by the March 29 deadline, visit www.iowalum.com/apacc.
