The University of Iowa Mock Trial (UIMT) team sent four teams to the Arch Invitational in St. Louis, hosted by Washington University Oct. 20-21. This was the first competition of the year.

Senior Jacob Bogolia captained team 613 to a 7-1 record and a fourth place finish beating teams from Middle Tennessee State, the University of Texas at Austin, and two teams from the University of Illinois. Team 612, captained by senior Katy Kinney, went 5-1-1 securing fifth place with wins over Loyola University, Loras College, and University of Texas at Dallas.

On top of the two team awards, UIMT also brought home seven individual awards for outstanding witnesses and attorneys. Outstanding attorney awards were brought home by seniors Katy Kinney and James Adams and junior Edward Rodriguez. Awards for outstanding witness went to freshman Jeran Wiebke, sophomore Kimmy DePalma, and seniors James Adams and Katy Kinney. UIMT, with nine awards, won the most awards at the Arch Invitational.
