cover of Wishbone by Don Share

Don Share, managing editor of Poetry magazine, will read from his new book, Wishbone, at 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 29, in a free Prairie Lights reading streamed live on the University of Iowa Writing University website.

In addition to the Live from Prairie Lights reading, Share will speak about the process of taking Poetry, an established and respected magazine, and making it Open Access via a bequest from pharmaceutical heiress Ruth Lilly. The talk, part of Open Access Week, will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, Oct. 29, in the Illinois Room of the Iowa Memorial Union.

Share was previously curator of the Poetry Room at Harvard University, and poetry editor of Harvard Review and Partisan Review. His books include Squandermania, Union, and Seneca in English. His translations of Spanish poet Miguel Hernández, collected in I Have Lots of Heart, were awarded the Times Literary Supplement Translation Prize, the Premio Valle Inclán, and the PEN/New England Discovery Award.
