U.S. News & World Report ranks UI Hospitals and Clinics in the top 50 in seven specialties

U.S. News & World Report on Aug. 1 released its 2016–17 “Best Hospitals” rankings, and University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics again has been included as one of the top hospitals in the United States. 

UI Hospitals and Clinics is ranked in seven specialties: cancer (34); ear, nose, and throat (5); gynecology (49); neurology and neurosurgery (47); ophthalmology (7); orthopedics (16); and urology (34). 

UI Hospitals and Clinics also was ranked again as the No. 1 hospital in Iowa.

In addition, UI Hospitals and Clinics was recognized as “high-performing” in the following specialties: diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology and GI surgery, geriatrics, and nephrology.
