Kelsey Ryder and Shelly Brimeyer, financial literacy specialists in the University of Iowa Office of Student Financial Aid, received special recognition at the spring Iowa Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (IASFAA) conference.

Ryder received the Outstanding New Professional Award, which recognizes the achievements of a financial aid professional who has been in the financial aid profession for five years or less but has already made significant contributions to IASFAA or the financial aid profession.

Brimeyer received the John C. Parker Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes an individual member's scope of accomplishment over a sustained period of time rather than recognizing excellence in a single event or project and focuses on the individual's call to service. This award recognizes outstanding and prolonged achievement in support of IASFAA and the financial aid profession.

“Though my staff see daily the outstanding work of these two dedicated professionals, it’s very special and meaningful for their work and contributions to be acknowledged by their professional colleagues throughout the state of Iowa,” says Mark Warner, UI assistant provost and director of student financial aid.
