Weather and ground conditions permitting, University of Iowa Landscape Services crews will conduct a controlled burn on the south side of the State Hygienic Laboratory, UI Research Park Campus, on Sunday, April 3, beginning at approximately 1 p.m.

Burning is a preferred prairie-management practice for removing unwanted vegetation, making the prairie respond with renewed vigor. UI Landscape Services conducts controlled burns each year at various prairie sites around campus.

Questions or concerns can be directed to Shawn Fitzpatrick, Facilities Management, at 319-541-4937.
