The University of Iowa has once again been named a 2016 Military Friendly® School by Victory Media.

Now in its seventh year, the list honors the top colleges, universities, and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America's military service members and veterans as students and ensure their success on campus. Schools competed for the title by completing a survey covering 10 indicators of success, including support for veterans on campus, graduation and employment outcomes, and military spouse policies.

"The University of Iowa is proud of its record of service for military and veteran students," says Georgina Dodge, UI chief diversity officer and associate vice president. "We are dedicated to helping all military-affiliated students succeed in their academic pursuits and beyond."

The UI was one of 24 schools in Iowa to make the list whose members range from state universities and private colleges to community colleges, trade schools, and online learning resources. This year, the UI was also the only school in Iowa named to Victory Media's Top 25 Public Colleges and Universities list for military and veteran students.

The 2016 list of Military Friendly Schools was compiled through extensive assessment measuring schools on criteria determined by Victory Media and an independent Academic Advisory Board. A complete description of the methodology is available at MilitaryFriendly.com/FAQ.

Victory Media is a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business founded in 2001. Victory's free, data-driven lists are open for all schools who wish to participate.
