Kira Pasquesi
Kira Pasquesi

Kira Pasquesi, a doctoral student in the College of Education's Higher Education and Student Affairs program and vice-chair of the President's Student Advisory Committee on Sexual Misconduct, was accepted as a 2015 Publicly Active Graduate Education (PAGE) Fellow by Imagining America.

The fellowship will support Pasquesi's dissertation research on the language of diversity and inclusion in college and university public engagement. Pasquesi says the fellowship also aligns with her "interests in advancing the public purposes of higher education through engaged research and teaching practices."

Imagining America is a consortium of universities and organizations dedicated to advancing the humanities, arts, and design through civic engagement. Each year they announce a new class of PAGE Fellows in order to create an interdisciplinary group of peers to participate in yearlong scholarship centered on the fellows' various projects. In late September, Pasquesi attended a PAGE summit where she received career support, ideas for her research, and a network of publicly engaged scholars.

Pasquesi joins Heather Draxl and Kathrina Litchfield—College of Education doctoral students in the Language, Literacy, and Culture program—who were 2014 PAGE Fellows.
