Robert Kerns, ’96 Ph.D., was named the John L. and Carol E. Lach Chair in Drug Delivery Technology. Kerns is professor and chair of pharmaceutical sciences and experimental therapeutics at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy.

He earned a Ph.D. in Medicinal and Natural Products Chemistry from the University of Iowa, and completed postdoctoral studies in the Department of Chemistry at Princeton University as a NIH National Research Service Award recipient.
