The Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology in the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine will hold its annual memorial service for the Deeded Body Program at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at Oakland Cemetery, 1000 Brown St., in Iowa City.

In the event of inclement weather, the service will be held at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 1300 Melrose Ave., in Iowa City.

The memorial service honors those individuals who donated their bodies to aid in the advancement of medical education and science at the UI through studies completed during the past year.

Students who benefited from the donations will participate in the service. Noelle Andrew, associate director of spiritual services at UI Hospitals and Clinics, and John Engelhardt, professor and chair of the UI Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, also will deliver remarks.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all UI-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to attend this service, call Brian Chapman in advance at 319-335-7762.
