The Board of Regents, State of Iowa, will meet at 8 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, in the Iowa Memorial Union at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. The purpose of the meeting is to interview finalists and select a new president for the University of Iowa.

The Board of Regents is a group of nine citizen volunteers who govern the state’s three public universities and two special K-12 schools—the Iowa School for the Deaf and the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School—through policymaking, coordination, and oversight.

  • Media should arrive by 2:30 p.m. and may gather in the common area outside the IMU Main Lounge.
  • Following the Board of Regents selection and announcement in the Main Lounge there will be a media availability IMU’s North Room (a mult box will be provided in each room).
  • Parking is available in the IMU ramp (live trucks may park in front of the IMU on North Madison Street).
