The University of Iowa’s John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (JPEC) will sponsor an abridged version of its Venture School program to help University of Iowa faculty innovators determine if a business market exists for their inventions.
This four-week version, called the Faculty Innovator Program, helps faculty develop marketable ideas and accelerate the start-up process. At the conclusion, participants are encouraged to proceed with the regular six-week Venture School program, or with the National Science Foundation’s I-Corps technology commercialization program.
The program will meet from 5 to 9 p.m. Sept. 15 and 22 and Oct. 6 and 13 at the State Hygienic Laboratory, 2490 Crosspark Rd., Coralville.
The application deadline is Sept. 4 at midnight. Information sessions will be held at 9 a.m. Aug. 18 at the BioVentures Center, 2500 Crosspark Rd., and at 9 a.m. Aug. 31 in Room 2189 Medical Education Research Facility (MERF).
