Painstaking attention to detail is required when moving Mural, Jackson Pollock's mammoth Modern masterpiece, under normal circumstances. That effort is exponentially greater when the waterways of Venice are involved.

That said, Mural made a successful trip, traveling the Grand Canal to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, a place it will call home for the next few months.

The Pollock piece is in Italy for the prestigious Venice Art Biennale along with nearly two dozen other works of art as part of an exhibition titled “Jackson Pollock’s Mural: Energy Made Visible.” The exhibition, organized by the University of Iowa Museum of Art, will take up residence April 25 through Nov. 16 at the Guggenheim.
