The NCAA and the University of Iowa, in partnership with the cities of Iowa City, Coralville, and North Liberty, is hosting the 2015 NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships at the UI Campus Recreation and Wellness Center (CRWC) March 23 through 28.

This prestigious event will showcase the community, the UI’s Campus Recreation and Wellness Center, and the UI as a premiere institution of higher education to thousands of visitors, according to Justin Holman, assistant director of marketing and membership services for UI Recreational Services.

In addition, the NCAA Championships offer the most competitive environment at the collegiate level for the hundreds of talented student-athletes who will participate in the swimming and diving events, a fact that is exciting for both participants and the fans who will be cheering them.

Due to the space requirements needed to host this event, the CRWC will be closed starting Monday, March 23, at 8 a.m. and will re-open Sunday, March 29, at 7 a.m.

To better serve people, CRWC is extending the hours of the UI’s three other facilities —Field House, Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex, and Fitness East—to match the CRWC's hours of operation.

Monday—Friday: 5:30 a.m. to midnight
Saturday—7 a.m. to midnight

During this time, members will not have access to the facility or lockers. Those who have a locker need to collect any items they may need from their lockers prior to March 23 at 8 a.m.

Please note it is not required to remove items, and staff will not be removing anything from lockers, as lockers themselves will not be used during the event. However, athletes attending the event will use the locker rooms.

“We understand that hosting the NCAA Championships will disrupt the schedules of many from our community who utilize the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center,” says JT Timmons, director of UI Recreational Services.  “We cannot thank people enough for their understanding and commitment to supporting this event and the student-athletes, coaches, and support staff that will participate in it.”
