Professor Keela Herr, associate dean for faculty at UI’s College of Nursing, is a recipient of the 2015 Distinguished Researcher Award from the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA). Herr was bestowed with the award because of her research contributions that have led to improved care of older adults with pain.

HPNA’s Distinguished Researcher Award recognizes a nurse who has demonstrated longevity and consistency in hospice and palliative nursing research presentations and publications in a variety of peer reviewed journals.

Herr was presented with the award at the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine/Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association Annual Assembly in Philadelphia last month.
