Program in intimate venue will feature chamber works by Welch, Wheeldon, and others
Tuesday, March 3, 2015

The University of Iowa’s Hancher will present two sold-out performances by the Joffrey Ballet on Saturday and Sunday, March 7 and 8, in Space Place Theatre on the UI campus. The program will include choreography by James Kudelka, Yuri Possokhov, Stanton Welch, and Christopher Wheeldon.

The longstanding relationship between Hancher and the Joffrey Ballet is a vibrant artistic partnership. In its latest incarnation, the Joffrey dancers will present chamber works highlighting their artistry. Joffrey artistic director Ashley Wheater will provide insight into the evening’s works.

The performances are supported by the Hancher Partners and gifts to the Hancher Circle through the University of Iowa Foundation. Additional support has been provided by John and Sue Strauss. Hancher dedicates these performances to the memory of John Strauss, professor emeritus in the UI College of Medicine and a passionate supporter of Hancher and the Joffrey Ballet, who passed away in July 2014.
