Dr. Axel Ruprecht, Department of Oral Pathology, Radiology and Medicine, will serve as a member on the American Association of Endodontists’ (AAE) and American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology’s Joint Special Committee to review and revise the position statement on the use of Cone-Beam-Computed Tomography (CBCT) in endodontics.

Ruprecht and other committee members will revise and update the AAE 2010 position paper on the use of CBCT in regard to ionizing radiation as well as clinical recommendations, anatomical considerations and appropriate use of CBCT. The committee will also identify clinical situations in which the use of CBCT is valuable for endodontists.
