Have you ever wanted to visit the spooky and fantastical realms of your favorite books and movies? Get ready for adventure as you join us for the University of Iowa Pentacrest Museums' 9th annual Creepy Campus Crawl from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24.

Be transported into your favorite magical realms for a night of marvelous discovery at the UI Museum of Natural History.

Take an herbology class at Hogwarts and test your archery skills with the elves of Middle Earth. Step through the wardrobe into Narnia, brave a winter storm with Elsa and Anna in Arendelle, or become a Viking hero with Hiccup and Toothless on the Isle of Berk. Scientists from the Department of Physics and Astronomy, the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, and the College of Dentistry will lead you on your journey.

Step next door and travel from Transylvania to Oz as we weave together favorite classic tales at Old Capitol Museum. Ride along with Aladdin on his magic carpet, hunt for pirate's booty on Treasure Island, join the Mad Hatter for a tea party in Wonderland, encounter Casper the Friendly Ghost, and travel down the Yellow Brick Road to Oz, where you can toss apples like the trees. Students from the Museum Studies Program will help make old stories new again.

The event is geared toward families with children, but everyone is welcome. Admission is free and registration is not required. Costumes are encouraged. For more information, visit the Museum of Natural History website or the Old Capitol Museum website.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all UI-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to attend the event, contact the Pentacrest Museums in advance at 319-335-2010.
