Construction update shows historic transformation underway on campus
Building under constructionProgress continues to be made on the new 14-story University of Iowa Children’s Hospital, scheduled for completion in 2016. It takes construction crews three to four weeks to complete each floor.

The University of Iowa is in the midst of a $1.2 billion historic transformation with a number of major building projects underway.

The relocation and replacement of three major Arts Campus buildings damaged during the flood of 2008, and a number of other new projects including the Art Building Replacement Facility, the Pappajohn Biomedical Discovery Building, Hancher Auditorium, University of Iowa Children's Hospital, Voxman Music Building, and the Mary Louise Petersen Residence Hall make this an exciting and pivotal time to be on the UI campus.

Check out the following images—taken in late August—to see progress on some of these major construction projects.
