Aspiring young dancers can develop their artistic expression this fall at programs offered through the University of Iowa Youth Ballet and School of Dance.

The Youth Ballet emphasizes the Vaganova style of classical ballet training and is intended for dancers ages 7 to 18. The School of Dance program offers classes in ballet, tap, yoga, choreography/composition, and jazz for teens and adults. And the Youth Ballet children’s program offers those ages 2 to 6 a structured creative-movement curriculum that is educationally sound and developmentally appropriate.

Since its establishment in 1972, the University of Iowa Youth Ballet and School of Dance (housed within the UI Department of Dance) has stood as a superior community outreach program, training aspiring dancers within Iowa City and surrounding communities.
