The DeGowin Blood Center at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics has joined forces with the Coralville Police and Fire Departments for the first Battle of the Badges Blood Drive on Friday, July 25, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Coralville’s City Hall Council Chambers.

The Battle of the Badges is an opportunity for members of the police and fire departments, along with their family, friends, and the public to participate in a friendly competition to see who can donate the most blood, and save the most lives.

Members of the public are invited to donate blood on behalf of either the Police or Fire Department. The department with the most successful donations will receive a traveling trophy.

Appointments are encouraged. To schedule an appointment, contact Mike Barney, Chad Wendel, or call the Coralville Police Department at 319-248-1800.

Donors may also sign-up at www.uihealthcare.org/bloodcenter, or by calling call the UI DeGowin Blood Center at 319-356-2058.
