Building for Iowa website

University of Iowa Facilities Management introduces a new Campus Master Plan website called 'Building for Iowa' to feature major campus building and flood recovery projects.

The website brings together information previously dispersed in several web locations like project updates and timelines, renderings, the Campus Master Plan, flood recovery, and art and architecture under one umbrella. Additional links provide users with traffic alerts, webcams and sustainable building information.

The website was created to showcase and document the historic transformation that is taking place on the UI campus with nearly $1 billion in construction activity. Most of the construction activity is reflective of flood recovery projects along with additional projects that will renew academic, health care, research, and athletic facilities.

Rod Lehnertz, director of Planning, Design and Construction, says "As our campus continues through a historical transformation, it is important and meaningful to share information on all that has happened and will be happening. The University of Iowa has a wonderful story to tell, and I'm excited that our Building for Iowa website will help in telling that story."

UI Facilities Management is dedicated to the stewardship of the UI campus and oversees planning, design and construction; space management; building maintenance and custodial services; landscape; utilities and energy management; and recycling.
