The UI Mobile Museum travels to communities across the state.

WHAT: Media Availability and tours of the University of Iowa Mobile Museum at Winnebago Grand National Rally

WHERE: Winnebago Industries Visitor Center, 1045 S. 4th Street, Forest City.

WHEN: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 17

WHO: UI Faculty and Staff affiliated with the Mobile Museum will be available for interviews.

Present for the media availability will be:

  • Dan Reed, vice president for research and economic development
  • John Doershuk, state archaeologist and director of the Office of the State Archaeologist
  • Trina Roberts, associate director of the UI Museum of Natural History

WHY: The Mobile Museum, a 38-foot custom Winnebago assembled in Forest City, features exhibits on Iowa’s natural, cultural, and political history, as well as an interactive digital wall that allows visitors to explore UI research and creative endeavors. Launched in April 2014, the Mobile Museum visits schools, libraries, and special events across the state, seeing more than 5,000 visitors to date.
