The University of Iowa Fine Arts Council will present the 2014 Riverbank Art Fair and Annual Wine Tasting on the weekend of April 26-27 in the Iowa Memorial Union Main Lounge, along the bank of the Iowa River.

An indoor fine arts exhibition and sale, the Riverbank Art Fair is held annually in downtown Iowa City. Ceramics, drawing and painting, glass, woodworking, jewelry, metal works, fiber, mixed media, and photography are among the artistic mediums that will appear, as the fair showcases the work of more than 75 professional artists from the Iowa City/Coralville community as well as from across the Midwest.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 26, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 27. The wine tasting will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26; patrons 21 years and older are welcome to participate. Admission is free and open to the public.

The Fine Arts Council is a self-supporting student organization that places utmost value on the support and promotion of art within the Iowa City and Coralville communities and throughout the state of Iowa. Strengthening the connection between local arts and the community through free public events remains inherent to the organization that has been active since the 1970s.
