The event allows UI students, faculty, and staff to connect with legislators on topics facing the university and higher education. The capitol rotunda was filled with black and gold as UI representatives struck up conversations with political figures and visitors throughout the day.

The UI Foundation and Alumni Association also hosted an event on April 1, in conjunction with the Hawkeye Caucus, at the Iowa Historical Building. UI alumni and friends heard remarks from UI President Sally Mason, UI student Chance Sullivan, UI Foundation President and CEO Lynette Marshall, and UI Alumni Association CEO Vince Nelson.
