The University of Iowa Pentacrest Museums will celebrate its latest exhibit, "Poe: A Wilderness of Mirrors," with a night of storytelling and snacks at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, at the Old Capitol Museum.

In conjunction with the exhibit, storyteller Darrin Crow will perform "Morbid Curiosities: an Evening with Edgar Allan Poe." The master of Gothic horror will come from beyond the veil to talk about his life and death and share his best stories, including The Masque of the Red Death, The Raven, and The Tell-Tale Heart. The program will begin at 6:30 p.m. preceded by a reception and refreshments at 6 p.m.
Crow, a native of Cedar Rapids, began exploring storytelling while volunteering at a living history museum in high school. He studied interpretive speech in college before working as an actor and itinerant storyteller in Pennsylvania and Florida. Since returning to Iowa in 1999, he has pursued his career as a tale spinner in a variety of settings, ranging from retirement homes to festival stages.
