Iowa men's basketball, women's basketball, and wrestling participated in postseason action in March

Three University of Iowa teams concluded their seasons in NCAA postseason action, making for a busy few weeks of "March Madness."

The Iowa men's basketball team returned to NCAA Tournament action for the first time since 2006, dropping a close overtime contest to Tennessee, 78-65, in Dayton, Ohio. The Hawkeyes finished the season with a 20-13 overall record.

The Iowa women's basketball team hosted NCAA Tournament first and second round action for the second straight season, with No. 11 seed Marist, No. 3 seed Louisville, and No. 14 seed Idaho traveling to Iowa City. The Hawkeyes defeated Marist in the first round, 87-65, before falling to Louisville, 83-53. Head coach Lisa Bluder and the Iowa women's team compiled a 27-9 record on the season.

Senior Tony Ramos of the Iowa wrestling team finished his career in style, claiming a national championship at 133 pounds for the Hawkeyes in Oklahoma City. Iowa wrestlers have now won a total of 80 individual national championships in school history. As a team, the Hawkeyes finished fourth at the NCAA Championships.
