Public takes part in preview of ‘Out of Bounds’ play
Members of Iowa City's Working Group Theatre perform "Out of Bounds," a play about cyber-bullying, part of a University of Iowa-community partnership that includes Hancher, the UI College of Public Health, the UI Injury Prevention Research Center, and the Iowa City Community School District.

Members of the public recently got a behind-the-scenes preview of a ground-breaking play designed to shine a light on—and stir public conversations about—one of the most pressing social issues of the day: cyber-bullying among teens.

Out of Bounds is the name of the play and part of a broader University of Iowa-community partnership involving Iowa City’s Working Group Theatre, Hancher (which commissioned the work), the UI College of Public Health, the UI Injury Prevention Research Center, and the Iowa City Community School District.

The preview was held Feb. 19 in the College of Public Health Building. During the event, Working Group company members performed scenes from the play and audience members were invited to provide feedback to help shape its continued development ahead of the work’s May 1 Hancher premiere.
