WHAT: Learning Commons Grand Opening

WHEN: Friday, Feb. 21, 2-4 p.m.

WHERE: Learning Commons and Shambaugh Auditorium, Main Library

WHO: University of Iowa President Sally Mason, provost P. Barry Butler, University Librarian John Culshaw, and faculty, staff, and students

UI leaders will gather to celebrate the completion of the UI Learning Commons, a tech-infused, comfortable, flexible study space with a one-stop academic help center in the UI Main Library. The product of a unique partnership among Information Technology Services, University Libraries, and the Office of the Provost, the Learning Commons is an intellectual hub for the university, focused on furthering students’ academic success.

The event will include a brief program at 2 p.m. followed by a ribbon cutting, tours, and refreshments.
