Dance Marathon raises record-breaking $1.8 million to fund pediatric cancer research

More than 2,000 dancers took to the dance floor during the 20th University of Iowa Dance Marathon Friday and Saturday, Feb. 7 and 8. Everyone from Herky to UI students, children, and their family and friends came together to dance the day and night away—to help raise money and awareness for pediatric cancer research.

The UI Dance Marathon announced Saturday night that UI students and partners raised $1,801,032.20—$300,000 more than last year and the largest amount in the event’s history.

Over the past 20 years, UI Dance Marathon has raised more than $14.5 million for research at UI Hospitals and Clinics.
