University of Iowa Children’s Hospital is calling on all young artists for help in a new project launching this spring.
UI Children’s Hospital is sponsoring a Herky on Parade and is asking children 18 and under to submit artwork to be used as part of the hospital’s Herky.
“The UI Children’s Hospital Herky will reflect that this is the children’s hospital for the entire state of Iowa,” says Cheryl Hodgson, marketing manager for UI Children’s Hospital. Last year, UI Children’s Hospital cared for 57,872 patients representing every county in Iowa and nearly every state in the United States.
Young artists interested in submitting a self-portrait should follow the project guidelines:
- Use a white piece of paper no larger than 8.5” by 11”.
- Do not use/attach any three dimensional materials.
- Include your first name, age, and hometown.
- Those unable to draw can submit a hand- or footprint.
- All artwork becomes the property of UI Children’s Hospital and cannot be returned.
All entries must be received by Feb. 28.
Entries may be mailed to:
