Bacteriologic testing of two sets of water samples completed by the State Hygienic Laboratory has confirmed that no microbial contamination of the water supply occurred during a low water pressure incident caused by a main break on Capitol Street near Lafayette Street on the evening of Wednesday, Feb. 19. The testing confirmed that Iowa City tap water meets all regulatory standards and is safe for drinking and cooking.
