Iowa City Police are investigating a report of a strong-arm robbery just after 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, near the intersection of Melrose Court and Melrose Avenue, south of the Gerdin Athletic Learning Center.

The male victim reported that two men knocked him down from behind and took his Columbia jacket, which contained a ticket to the Juicy J concert scheduled for Monday night in the Iowa Memorial Union, and fled west on Melrose Avenue on a moped. No weapons were displayed in the incident.

Because the incident took place near the University of Iowa campus, UI Police assisted and issued a Hawk Alert notification to students, faculty and staff.

The Hawk Alert System is used to notify the campus community of threats to physical safety in emergency situations. For more information, including how to change personal settings, visit hawkalert.uiowa.edu.
